Rolex on a roll
Two vintage Rolexes were in the June auction at Auction Antiques, both selling for an excellent price.
Firstly, a vintage stainless steel Gentleman’s Rolex Oyster Perpetual wristwatch. The black Rolex snakeskin print strap added further charm to the classic timepiece and it will surely be a statement piece in the wardrobe of its new owner. Dating to the 1950s/1960s the watch was sure to capture the attention of many… and it did, with a burst of bids leading to a sale of £800 (hammer).
The second Rolex was a vintage Gentleman’s Rolex Oyster Chronometer, which even without a strap was a marvellous piece of machinery. With a subsidiary second dial on its face and 2-4-8-10-12 numeral markers, this 1940’s piece is a testament to the longevity of the Rolex, and it eventually sold for £550 (hammer).
